step three: screw things kinda sorta nearby
step four: bondo in place
coz welding metal is for fools
step 5: finish nothing, paint nothing, take a pic from the good side and post for sale

see those rivets. those are holding your patch in place,and you painted it.
preeeeeety confident that red outline on pic 1 (where its held on by 1 screw) indicates that it was then cut to size, and held entirely in place by the bondo.
and I’ll bet good money there is no paint on the untreated metal.
